MSI is delighted to announce that Dr Carole Sekimpi has taken on the role of Senior Director for Africa.
Carole is a well-known and respected colleague, having been with MSI for nearly a decade. She joined MSI Uganda as Managing Director in 2015 and went on to become Country Director for Uganda in 2018.
Under her leadership, Carole has accelerated access to contraception and reproductive health across Uganda. For example, she pioneered our public sector strengthening programme in the country, partnering with the government to ensure that high-quality, comprehensive reproductive health services are available in Uganda for the long-term.
In addition to being a medical doctor with a Master of Philosophy and a Master of Public Health, Carole has extensive experience working for both local and international non-governmental agencies in clinical, programming, and management capacities. She maintains strong partnerships with donors, partners, and governments.
Carole is passionate about helping women and girls blossom to their fullest potential and is committed to sustainable interventions that ensure women’s health needs can be met long term. She has an in-depth understanding of social and health issues, particularly sexual and reproductive health, HIV prevention, and vulnerable children.
Commenting on her appointment, Carole shared:
